What the hell is this?

This is my personal blog. My name is Jim, I'll post all sorts of stupid shit on here, from short stories, to my thoughts on things, maybe the occasional song I've had a hand in writing. First things first though, what's coming up? Glad you asked. For the last 18 months or so, I have been part of an online roleplaying group, The Viking Exiles. Before I joined/helped to start this group, this sort of stuff wasn't my bag, for the longest time though, I have loved telling stories, this is an outlet i absolutely love for this. As such I will be writing and publishing on this very site, a series of short stories based on the characters in this roleplay. Elevator pitch? Well it's about a group of vikings and out casts from the start of the 11th century, mostly, the leader of these vikings is not from the 11th century, but is a time traveler, together with her hapless bunch of misfits she tries to make a name for herself and her fledgling kingdom, teaming up with among others, a master thief and the worlds most dangerous assassin. These two will be the focus of the first series of stories, with their queen recuperating from a vicious war against a rival kingdom, and a few months on their hands, they "borrow" her time machine and go a joy ride through history, breaking laws, having fun, and very occasionally being a bit heroic. Thus starts "The Duchess and the Lord's Excellent Adventure".
